Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a fee to participate?

Entry fee is a donation to our Trail Xperience Fundraiser. Every $20 gets you a raffle ticket and gets us that much closer to our $10k fundraising goal for the Hersch X mission. Every $35 gives someone in Africa access to clean drinking water.

Will there be bathrooms?

No. This will be dispersed camping so there won’t be any running water or bathrooms.

We suggest bringing a cassette or bucket-type portable toilet with some kind of privacy tent which can be found at most RV or sporting good stores.

Is this event kid friendly?

Of course! We will even have a family friendly movie night on Friday. We encourage you to get outdoors with your kids and enjoy this event as a family.

Will my trailer or RV fit?

Yes! There’s plenty of room and some fairly large spots to accommodate some larger (but not huge) trailers or RV’s, no hookups, though.

The road coming in can get a little washed out, but take it easy and you should be fine. For larger rigs we suggest the slightly longer route.

What if there's bad weather?

As they say “the show must go on!”  If nature gives us rain we play in the mud. We’ll do our best not to tear up trails and we’ll have fun raising money—rain or shine.

Can I bring pets?

Sure thing! Dogs, cats, birds, bring ‘em. Don’t bring your pet lion or any other animal you feel a little weary about being around a lot of people, pets, and kids.

Are the trails 2wd or beginner friendly?

Yes. We will provide a rating for each trail so you’ll know exactly what you’re getting into before hand.

Can we have a fire?

This really depends whether any fire restrictions are in place. We highly suggest a propane fire pit as you never know what the restrictions might be, and it’s best to be prepared. If you do have a wood fire, please practice safety and keep it small. We all love our forest and prefer to keep it green.
